
In the beauty onin the town of Atalanti, 7 kilometers from Arkitsa, where is mrgiven at the foot of Mount Roda, you will see the historic catacomb of Agios Athanasios, where in the background it exists the church of Agios Athanasios.
Please visit also her historical Agathon Monastery, about 20 kilometers from Arkitsa. It was founded in the 14th century by the monk Agathona, from whom it took its name. It is located very close to the National Park of Oita, in altitude 530 m., and hosts very important heirlooms, images, utensils and books of enormous religious, cultural and historical value. Stthe outer courtyard of the Monastery has been built and works the Natural History Museum of Oitis. Outside the museum there is a unique in the region micross botanical garden with the most important flora species of Oita.
